Barbra Streisand Barbie Doll Order Now

I can't believe that Mattel actually made a "Barbra Streisand" doll! I always wanted one and wished they would long ago and here it is.

The doll is a beautiful replica of Barbra in the 60s with the bobbed hair-do in light brown with tiny blonde streaks, sailor blouse and long black skirt (with thigh high slit in the back), black sling-back pumps and lace/fishnet stockings. She also comes with an old fashioned microphone on its stand.

The doll's makeup is spot on with the "Cleopatra" eyeliner and the beige-pink lipstick that matches its nail polish. And that famous Streisand nose is there, too.

She stands with one hand on her hip and the other grasping the microphone stand, and the doll has that sly smile on her face.

According to the box, the doll also comes with doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity. Since I'm keeping my Barbra doll in the unopened box, I can't verify if the doll stand is in there but I'm sure it is.

On the back of the doll box there's a picture of Streisand in the same outfit that the doll is wearing along with a description of the superstar and where she wore this particular outfit.

I'm sure this doll will make a great gift to any Barbra Streisand/Barbie fan out there!

Hopefully Mattel will do more "Barbra" dolls especially with her 70s look and style, like she had in What's Up, Doc?.

Barbie and Kelly Pink Holiday Fashion Doll Play Set Decide Now

I took a walk through the Walmart toy department today and found this set for under $20. Of all the sets offered, this one appealed to me the most. In my opinion, this Barbie was nicer than the more expensive "collector" Barbie in the fancy dress for more than twice the money.

Some of the Barbie Dolls I looked at had so much eye "make-up" painted on they appeared to have black eyes. The eyes on this Barbie were acceptable. Both Barbie and Kelly have the same shade of blue eyes.

The inclusion of Kelly is a nice addition to this set. The Kelly doll is the reason I chose this set over any of the others or over choosing a single Barbie doll. (There were single Barbies available in fancy dresses in the same price range.)

My youngest granddaughter has several of the Barbie DVDs featuring both Barbie and Kelly. Kelly is on at least three of the Barbie DVDs--The Nutcracker, Rapunzel and Swan Lake. These DVDs are available at Target for $5 each. This Barbie/Kelly set would pair nicely with one (or all) of these DVDs to make a nice Christmas gift in the $25-$35 range. If you had to choose only one DVD, I recommend the Nutcracker (especially for Christmas gifting), Rapunzel and then Swan Lake in that order.

There are two drawbacks for this set: The blond hair on the Barbie has not been curled or groomed as well as the hair on some of the more expensive Barbies. However, given the state of Barbie hair I have seen on a number of well loved Barbies, the hairdo probably won't make a difference. The second drawback is that the set features contemporary outfits rather than "Princess" dresses. But, the pink and shiney outfits have their own appeal and Kelly's fish net stockings are adorable.

This set would make any little girls eyes light up.

If a "Princess" dress is desired, there are other Barbies that come with fancy frocks or you could buy or sew an additional outfit for this Barbie.

Note: I didn't see an individual Kelly doll at our local Walmart--this set was the only way to obtain her. I did notice some sets on Amazon that had four "Kelly" dolls.

Low Price Barbie Pink World House

I bought this doll house for my little sister because she wanted one for Christmas. I knew I was not going to pay $200 for a large and fancy Barbie doll house so I went looking for a cheaper alternative. My husband actually found this for me online and I thought it was great! The price was better then I expected for a brand-new doll house and all the accessories. It came in and my little sister loved it. It is brightly colored and it brings a lot of decorating items. It is a great size for playing and also for putting it away. It is a little flimsy, the doors seems to pop off easily but they can quickly be put back in place, and there are a lot of tiny little pieces (such as Barbie sized cups, food, furniture, etc) but as long as the child is old enough to understand that they should NEVER put them in their mouth they should be fine. It is quite long so when rearranging you have to be careful not to topple the whole thing over. The rooms in the doll house are so adorable! There is a bathroom section, kitchen section, and living space section and it is just too pretty.
