"Lemon Kick" is one of the most sought-after Barbie fashions of the era. Coming at the tail end of the Mod craze, "Lemon Kick" is a gorgeous two-piece playsuit made of sunny yellow pleated chiffon. It's comprised of sheer palazzo pants, matching solid yellow tap panties, a top trimmed with white braid and pink ribbon, plus a pair of cute yellow pilgrim shoes.

Barbie Silken Flame Collector Edition Reproduction Doll

This lovely Barbie reproduction set was produced in 1997. It brought back two of Barbie's classic fashions of the early 1960s: "Silken Flame" and "Red Flare".

"Silken Flame" is a strapless frock, featuring a red velvet bodice teamed with a cream satin skirt. Accented by a gold belt and red open-toed mule shoes, the outfit finds a perfect companion in the "Red Flare" dress-coat. "Red Flare" consists of a red velvet coat (lined in cream satin) with matching pillbox hat and white tricot gloves. The perfect finishing touch is a red velvet clutch-purse with a sparkling "diamond" button.

In the early days of Barbie fashion, Mattel designers utilised the current celebrity styles and fads when it came to creating the costumes for Barbie's elegant wardrobe. The "Red Flare" coat was no exception; being based on one of Jacqueline Kennedy's most talked-about outfits.

The set was originally released in dual-editions of either blonde or brunette Barbie doll, with the bubblecut (circa. 1962) hairstyle. I own the brunette version, which really sets off the red colours of the outfit to maximum effect. This is a beautiful doll who is number four in the Best Models Collection On Location. She has a bit of a sassy look to her. She comes with three outfits: a pretty swimsuit with sunglasses and shoes, a beautiful pink dress with shoes, sunglasses, and an adorable pink bag, and a green jacket, cream halter top, jean capris and matching shoes. Mattel Dc Superheroes Batgirl Collector Barbie Doll

Costume is fitted well to the body. The mask looks good but can use a better fit and more accuracy in creating the horns that are cut off at the tips. Mask. boots, gloves and body suit match in terms of fabric which is great for continuity in material. Extra treads here and there that are easily remedied with a scissor. Make up on the face looks nice and fashionable. All the materials used have a nice satin sheen to them. The hair is not as wavy as pictured, it straightens then curls in the bottom. Some fly away strands of hair need to be cut to keep the shape more uniform. Limited articulation, which is fine since at this price it's more for display and barbie dolls in general are made that way. The bat logo on the chest is clean and crisp yellow with gold outline. The belt looks good and fitted on the waist. Molded in plastic with ochre paint to distinguish the bat logo and sectional pods from the strap. It would have been better if the ochre was gold to match the inside cape lining. Vinyl boots and gloves look fine with nice outline stitching detail. The cape looks good black with gold lining but the sewing together of both parts leaves less to be desired since there are undulating parts that causes it not to drape well. Good stand with black plastic base and clear acrylic protrusion that fits between the legs. It would have been great if the bat logo was molded into the base. Given a little more time and care Mattel could have made this that much better and possibly commanded a higher price. Overall great collectable with quality materials and craftsmanship for its price. Barbie Collector Ethereal Princess Barbie Doll

I, also, was a bit surprised this doll didn't look more like the photos here. As stated previously, the gown was ill-fitted through the bodice, and the doll's hair was totally straight. I wound up moving the snaps on the back of her gown to make it fit more as it should, and as often I find is the case with a new Barbie, collector or otherwise, I did have to redo her hair. That can be somewhat time consuming but fairly easily done with foil-wrapped pipe cleaners and a careful 10 to 15 second's application of heat; say, a curling iron at low setting. Leaving the hair wrapped around the foil/pipe cleaners until cool (or over night) resets the curl. My 4 year old girl uses this as her car to race around with her older brother who's 5 when he races one of his cars. So far, so good after 3 weeks of having it. When she first got it and saw the cooler, I saw her sit there and try to open the trunk to put the coller in, haha, she was so cute.
